Holistic Medicine uses modalities that will help the body heal itself. Every creature has an innate immune system to protect themselves and heal from invaders. Acupuncture, Herbs, Chiropractic, Homeopathy, Flower Essences, Aromatherapy, Reiki, are examples of alternative/complementary physical and energetic medicine.
When practicing Holistic Medicine on animals, the healer knows that the outcomes and results are true.....there is NO placebo in the animal kingdom. Our patients cannot be deceived!
These modalities have thousands of years of history and have survived and been passed down through generations because they have been effective at healing people or at least improving their quality of life. Also, most of these modalities can be used to prevent illnesses or even diagnose diseases and most can be prescribed along with allopathic agents or physical intervention. There can be a marriage between Eastern and Western medical cultures.
Allopathic medicine is an expression commonly used by homeopaths or holistic practitioners and proponents of other forms of alternative medicine to refer to mainstream medical use of pharmacologically active agents or physical interventions to treat or suppress symptoms or pathophysiologic processes of diseases or conditions.
